Frequently asked questions

How do I cancel my subscription?

Apple manages all subscriptions. Open the iPhone Settings app → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Baby Ledger AI → Cancel Subscription. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. Apple's full instructions: support.apple.com/HT202039.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are issued by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the Baby Ledger AI charge, and select "Request a refund." Apple usually responds within 48 hours. If your refund is approved, your subscription ends immediately and your account drops to Free tier; tracking history is preserved.

I forgot my password.

Open the app → tap Sign in → tap Forgot password? → enter your email. We'll send a reset link within a minute. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder. Still stuck? Email us at [email protected] from the address tied to the account.

How do I delete my account and all my data?

Open the app → Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, every baby you tracked, every log entry, every photo, and every AI conversation. The deletion is immediate and unrecoverable. We comply with GDPR and CCPA right-to-delete requests within 30 days; in practice the in-app delete completes in under 60 seconds.

Why does the AllerSee™ scanner block a product I want to feed?

AllerSee blocks any scan where one of the product's ingredients matches a confirmed-severe allergen on your baby's allergen ledger. If you believe the block is wrong (e.g., the allergen severity in the ledger is outdated, or you've cleared the allergen with your pediatrician), open Settings → Allergen Profile for that baby and update the entry. AllerSee is informational only; you can also tap "View Details Anyway" on the block modal to override and proceed.

Is Baby Ledger AI a medical device?

No. Baby Ledger AI is a tracking and educational tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. AllerSee, the AI Food Scanner, and Saurus AI responses are informational only and supplement - never replace - guidance from your pediatrician. We are not classified as a medical device under FDA 21 CFR 880.

How do I add a co-parent or caregiver?

Open the app → Settings → Family Sharing → tap the baby → Invite Co-parent. Enter their email and pick a role: Caregiver (can add and edit logs) or Viewer (read-only - perfect for grandparents). They'll get an email with a sign-in link. Once they accept, every feed, nap, and diaper syncs across all caregivers in real time.

What languages does AllerSee read?

AllerSee reads ingredient text on product labels, with the strongest support for English plus Japanese, Chinese, and Korean (including non-Latin scripts such as kanji and Hangul). If you scan a product whose label the reader doesn't yet parse, the barcode lookup still works against the global product database; only the OCR label-reading layer is language-dependent.

Why is the AI sometimes wrong?

The AI uses Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash model with Anthropic's Claude as a fallback. Both can make mistakes, especially on ambiguous photos or unusual ingredient combinations. Every AI response carries a "not medical advice" disclaimer. If a response is wrong or unsafe, tap the thumbs-down button next to the message - your feedback is used to tune Saurus's prompts in future releases.

How do I export my baby's data?

Premium subscribers can export everything as CSV or PDF. Open the app → Settings → Export Data. Choose the date range and the data types (feeds, sleep, diapers, growth, allergens). The export downloads to your device's Files app and is shareable to email, AirDrop, or any pediatrician's portal.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your account drops to the Free tier. All historical data stays intact and accessible - Free has a 6-month rolling history window, so logs older than 6 months are hidden but not deleted. Resubscribing to Plus or Premium restores full historical access. Permanent deletion only happens via Settings → Account → Delete Account.
